Are you looking for an amazing modern passive house or contemporary building. If the answer is yes. Read on?
Our highly energy efficient timber frame houses and buildings are not just superb quality timber frame structures, they are the perfect choice for a quick, highly insulated build, which costs 30% less than a brick or block house. In addition, they are way above said housing regulations set in the UK / Europe..!
Our Superb timber frame homes and buildings are not just amazing value, they are also tailor made to your own specification and budget. We do not reduce the timber quality, or our window and door quality, we only reduce the heat loss and increase the energy efficientcy of the property!
All our timber frame buildings are not just built to building regulations, we always have and always will build better, and always over engineer the size of timbers. Our timber frame passive highly insulated homes are built to with stand the freezing harshness of winters, but also the heat in the summer.
Companies that solely build brick houses are incredibly frightened of the New EU legislation. Why..? To build a massively insulated home from brick, the void in the walls of a brick built house would need to be 180mm minimal to achieve some where near the goal set for the new energy rating which is set to be enforced in December 31 2020.
Making a brick building airtight is incredibly difficult, almost impossible actually and keeping costs down is a major problem when trying to build an energy efficient house from brick!
When this new law comes into effect the housing industry will need to change its guidelines-structural calculations and most of all its build type!
Regardless of the new laws, New Forest Log Homes working with it's trading partners Log Cabins LV have built passive housing and whats more, we find it quite easy, we have a passive show home in Poole Dorset, the first of its kind in the UK, and our 102 sq meter house would cost no more than £80 a year to heat!
The main market for highly efficient timber frame buildings is Norway, as their standard of living is one of the highest in the world, and their need for passive housing greater than the UK due to high winds, snow, snow loads and rain fall. However. What we have found is that the UK weather is changing, and that its becoming more increasingly hot, or incredibly wet, and winters are longer and colder, which is one of the reasons the UK have set this new Directive on build quality!
One part of the market that should be changed immediately is Park Homes.
Park Homes are built to a very, very poor regulation (BS 3636) 2005, actually it’s a joke build regulation, as the building manufactured to it are worthless after 10 or so years, and the amount of heat which escapes from these buildings is near on 80%-99%. The build quality is truly stagering, and there are 1000’s of these awfully manufactured building sold yearly, and most are bought by the retired, who need to keep themselves warm for more than 6 months of the year! So this one part of the industry that could be made to build passive immediately!
Secondly, Park Homes cost from £80.000 to £340.000…. Our Passive Show Home Building which is set to the same guidelines on size to a park home cost 20% less!
